New paper on stroke survivors expressing their emotions on Twitter

A new open-access paper funded by the project has recently published by Institut Guttmann in the Journal of Medical Internet Research.

The paper considers the question of emotional distress after recovering from a stroke and looks at differences in terms of how emotions are expressed from a gender perspective. A total of more than 800.000 Twitter messages posted by stroke survivors were analysed. The results reveal that women stroke survivors use positive emotional language and express happiness much more than men. The full paper can be read here.
